The Cabin Category consists of the components and sub-components outlined below.  More detailed construction photos and discussion are included for selected items.

Floor

Front Floor:
The standard Lancair ES design places the fuel selector and fuel lines on the floor just in front of (and between) the front seats.  Thus, a raised floor is used in this area and under the rudder pedals to cover the fuel lines.  The raised floor also helps cover the exhaust tunnels.  However, the raised floor causes reduced knee-to-panel clearance (for tall pilots).

To increase the knee-to-panel clearance, I have relocated the fuel selector to under the front seats (which is a better location anyway) and routed the fuel lines along the right fuselage wall.  This removes the primary need for a raised front floor.  A partial floor is still used to cover the exhaust tunnels, but it is "sloped" to match the tunnels and blends into the fuselage bottom just behind the tunnels.
